NEW SESSION JAN. 12, NEW NEWSLETTER OUT, FIRST TOWN HALL JAN. 22
The 68th General Assembly will convene on Jan. 12, 2011. It's the beginning of my third year as the senator from District 18, and I'm excited to see what we can accomplish. The Senate convenes on Jan. 12 at 10 a.m., on a day that will feature swearing-in ceremonies for new legislators and speeches from legislative leaders. It's a public meeting in the Senate Chambers, and I'd love to see residents of District 18 attend if able.
For a preview of some of the key issues facing me and the Legislature in 2011, just click here to read my first newsletter of the new session. It's a six-page letter that touches on my priorities - notably fiscal and constitutional reform. I'll send more newsletters during the session to those on my e-mail list, so please consider signing up by using the "Signup for newsletters" link to the left if you're not on the list already.
Finally, I hope to see you at my first town hall meeting of the 2011 session. It will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, from 10:15 a.m. until about noon, at the Meadows Branch Library in Boulder, 4800 Baseline Road. I'll speak about the 2011 session and my priorities, and I'll leave plenty of time for questions and comments from attendees.
I just returned from Gov. John Hickenlooper's inauguration ceremony, and I was heartened for his call for all Coloradans to work together on the issues we will face. We'll have serious challenges, partially because of the state of the economy, but we also have opportunities thanks to our resources and entrepreneurial spirit. I look forward to working with my constituents and other Coloradans this year, and I hope we can meet or exchange ideas as the session progresses.
