Small Business Growth forum Aug. 23

You might have noticed that the economy has been in the news a bit lately, so let's do something about it! On Tuesday, Aug. 23, we will be holding a forum on Small Business Growth - from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, 2440 Pearl in Boulder.

One of the top goals for this forum is to help ensure that local small business owners know the various resources that are available to them. With special thanks to Sharon King, director of the Boulder Small Business Development Center, we've assembled a great lineup of speakers, as follows:

  • Sen. Rollie Heath, Introduction
  • Joan Henneberry, Colorado Health Institute, on Health Care and SB 11-200
  • Sharon King, SBDC
  • Alex Dempster, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority on Colorado Credit Reserve program
  • Lewis Hagler, Colorado Enterprise Fund, on access to capital
  • Jesse Golland, ACCION, on access to capital
  • Mike O'Donnell, Colorado Lending Source, on access to capital
  • Clif Harald, Boulder Economic Council, on resources through BEC and the City of Boulder
  • Eladia Rivera, Boulder Public Library, on business-related library resources
  • Tim Bour, Boulder Innovation Center, on BIC and CU Tech Transfer
  • Tom Miller, Workforce Boulder County, on employment and employee training
  • Tom Elam, Colorado Procurement Technical Assistance Center, on government contracting

This event is free and open to the public, but we'd appreciate it if you would register ahead of time at the Web site http://www.bouldersbdc.com. We've asked those presenting to bring handouts if possible, and time will be set aside for questions from attendees. Hope to see you there!
